LUKE & ACTS: The Church: Formed ~ Persecuted ~ Scattered
Written and published by Maxwell A. Jefferies

Everyone has an opinion about Jesus. He is trashed on social media. Most have not even read the ‘official’ source material. Most people have a vague impression. A baby in a manger at Christmas. A man on a cross at Easter. A few famous sayings. But the actual story, what He said, who He said it to, what it cost Him, and why any of it matters, that's where most people go blank.

Luke and Acts is where it all comes together, written by the same author as a historical official recording of the events. Luke was not a religious insider. He was a doctor - a non-Jew, an outsider, someone with no tribal reason to spin the story. When he wrote about Jesus he did what any good investigator does: he found the people who were there, asked them what happened, and wrote it down in order. What he produced is the longest, most detailed account of Jesus' life that exists. It is what you would call the Official version, given to the authorities for their reference.

Luke covers everything. The birth. The years nobody talks about. The teaching that made the religious establishment furious. The miracles. The people everyone else had written off - the poor, the sick, the foreigners, the ones society had decided didn't count - who turned out to be exactly the people Jesus went looking for. The arrest. The trial. The cross. And the event at the end that either explains everything or changes nothing, depending on what you decide to do with it.

Acts is what happened next. The followers of Jesus - frightened, ordinary, largely uneducated, somehow set the ancient world on fire. No platform. No budget. No influencers. Within a generation the message had reached the edges of the known world and the most powerful empire on earth was starting to pay attention.

Acts reads like a thriller. Prison escapes. Shipwrecks. Riots. A man who built his career persecuting Christians gets stopped on a road, flipped completely inside out, and becomes the most widely read writer in Western history. If you want to understand where the church came from and why it exploded the way it did, this is the book.

This edition is built for first-time readers. Headings throughout both books in this volume keep you oriented in the story. Snippets of Truthcommentary blocks stop at key moments to give you the context you need - the history, the culture, the connections - so nothing goes over your head.

No church background required. No commitment implied. Just read it.
You've heard everyone else's take. Here's the original. Make up your own mind.
